How to apply

1. Before applying, contact an Uppsala University PI who will serve as your primary research mentor; work with the PI on the research proposal and budget. Required
2. Request the mandatory Uppsala University Support Letter template from research support and obtain the PI's support letter using that template. Required
3. While developing the project, contact the Danish Host Institution to obtain a Host Letter and application-submission support, and establish an intellectual-property management plan consistent with Uppsala University's policies. Required
4. If you do not already have a NORMA profile, click Register on the login page and register using your work email address. Keep only one main-applicant profile. Required
5. Provide the administering institution's information in NORMA and ensure it is registered before submission; registering a new institution can take up to five working days. Required
6. Complete the applicant and proposal sections in English. Enter the budget in DKK through the Budget tab, with separate salary rows for Denmark and Uppsala; discuss and obtain the Uppsala PI's approval of project-related funds before submission. Disclose co-funding and overlapping proposals where applicable. Required
7. Upload the specified supplementary documents as PDFs, including the support letters, Danish Host Letter, Danish PI CV and one recommendation letter; include a PhD Completion Letter if your PhD is unfinished. The FAQ additionally requests a short CV from the international PI, whereas the guidelines prohibit unspecified appendices; seek clarification on that discrepancy. Required
8. Submit the completed application using NORMA's application form by the call deadline. Submit only one NNF postdoctoral fellowship application at a time and await the outcome before reapplying. Required
